Terms of baggage transportation upon entering the country.

Travellers are allowed to take up to 50 kg of personal luggage with them to Belarus, up to a value of 1,500 euro. Any items in addition to this are subject to duty at 30% and not less than 4 euro per kilo.


What items are not allowed to be taken into Belarus?

  • firearms
  • military equipment
  • narcotics and psychotropic drugs (allowed only as drugs for individual needs - must be confirmed by a medical document)
  • poisons
  • radioactive and explosive substances

Animals and plants can only be brought into Belarus with the appropriate health and veterinary certificates.


How much money can you take into Belarus?

There is no limit on the amount of foreign currency that you can take with you into Belarus. You must declare amounts over 10,000 USD when entering Belarus on the declaration form. Also you will need to indicate bills, bank checks and securities in the declaration. It is much easier to carry money in credit card. In this case declaration is not necessary, even if the amount exceeds the limit of 10 000 dollars.


Is it allowed to take alcohol and cigarettes into Belarus?

Alcohol and beer Up to 3 liters per one adult
Cigarettes 200 cigarettes /50 cigars, or 250 g of tobacco or all the specified products with a total weight up to 250 grams

For each liter of "extra" alcohol you will have to pay 10 euro, but not more than 5 liters. Persons under 18 years are not allowed to carry tobacco products or alcohol.

Customs declaration

All people arriving in and leaving Belarus must complete a customs and goods declaration form. These are usually available on the plane and at the airport.


Registration of foreigners

During temporary staying in the Republic of Belarus foreigners are obliged to be registered by the local unit of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus at their place of residing or in other way, stipulated by the Belarusian legislation, within 5 days from the date of arrival excluding weekends and national holidays.

It is also possible to register on the website of the National Center for Electronic Services. The procedure is available to foreigners who entered the country at checkpoints across the state border of the Republic of Belarus. Foreigners who have arrived in the Republic of Belarus across the state border from the Russian Federation must apply in person to the citizenship and migration unit of the internal affairs body at their place of residence in Belarus for registration.

Goods export

When leaving Belarus you should remember that there are no peculiarities considering goods export (except for the drugs, alcohol and weapons). There are some specific rules for the export of cultural values. Therefore, buying a souvenir antique box or a picture, you need to get a special document in the Ministry of Culture called "Certificate for the export of cultural property from the territory of the Republic of Belarus".
