Where is Grodno?
As you might have guessed, Grodno is located in Belarus, it is also the administrative center of the Grodno region, and the city itself is divided into two districts — Octyabrsky and Leninsky. Where is Grodno located on the world map?
from Berlin to Grodno: almost 1000 km, by plane you can fly in 1 hour and 10 minutes, and the flight will cost about $140;
from London to Grodno: 2100 km, will have to fly 2.5 hours, and the ticket costs about $180;
from Warsaw to Grodno: only 270 km, the flight will take less than an hour, and tickets can be found even for $20;
Do you need visa for trip to Grodno?
In 2018, awesome news was waiting for foreigners: now you can enter Belarus and Grodno itself for 30 days without a visa. This applies to residents of 74 countries of the world, a complete list and details can be found here.

Climate
The climate in Grodno is moderately continental, so wear light pants or shorts and a tank top in the summer (the average temperature in summer is about 18 degrees on C or 64,5 on F). In winter, wear warm pants and put on a big down jacket and a hat (average winter temperature is 5,5 degrees on C or 23 on F).
Brief history of the city
Grodno was first mentioned in the annals in 1005, which makes it one of the oldest cities in Belarus. It was founded and documented in 1128. In the middle of the XIII century Grodno became part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
The city is one of the most important historical and cultural centers of Belarus, as one of the oldest cities in the republic, which has preserved unique historical buildings. At different times, the city was part of different states, adopting and preserving their culture. It was the second largest city of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, as well as for some time the residence of the Grand Duke of Lithuania.
