One of the oldest literary museums in Belarus, the Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum was founded 25.05.1944, and was opened to the public 20.09.1945.

The exhibition presents the life and work of the national poet of Belarus Yanka Kupala (1882-1942), his role in the historical and cultural development of the country. The use of IT enhanced the expressiveness of the exhibition. Unique is the "Holographic theater" - the projection of the moving figure of Yanka Kupala accompanied by the original recording of the poet's voice.

Number of visitors in 2018 was 128462 people. Interactive programs and quests are most popular with visitors. The total number of depository items – 51823. The most valuable – the autographs, portraits and lifetime editions of Yanka Kupala, photographs and personal things of the poet and his family

Every year the museum implements international exhibition projects. Cooperation geography is wide: Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia, Finland, Israel, France, Armenia.

The museum has four branches. The older ones – in Viazynka, the birthplace of Yanka Kupala and in Liaŭki, the summer house of the poet –have the status as “memorial reserve”. Akopy, where the poet’s talent blossomed, and Jachimoŭščyna, where the poet wrote the verses that later formed “Žalejka” (The Flute), the debut collection of Yanka Kupala’s poems, were also turned into memorial places.
