Turovsky meadow
The biological reserve was founded in 2008 in order to preserve the unique ecosystem of vast flood meadows along the banks of the Pripyat River. The territory of this unique natural complex occupies about 140 hectares of land. Turovsky Meadow is home to about 55 species of birds, many of which are subject to protection at the European level, including crake and hollow. The largest settlements of such rare birds as the necktie and morodunka in Belarus are located here. In some places, the density of their nesting exceeds 100 pairs per hectare. It is one of the largest nesting and stopping places in Europe during migrations of wetland birds. During the spring and autumn flights, hundreds of thousands of individuals of more than 50 species stop here. The creation of the reserve makes it possible to restore the structure of meadow vegetation, preserve rare species of plants and birds. Bedwatchers from many countries of the world come to observe the birds of the Turovsky meadow.

"Turovsky Meadow" has the international status of "Territory important for birds".
