In 1619, the pope of the newly built church in Goleni, Fyodor Ivanovich, was approved by King Zhigimont III at the request of the Mogilev elder, Chancellor Lev Sapieha, for 4 land portages. At that time, Goleni was a village in the Gorbovichi parish of the Mogilev Region in the Orsha municipality of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The brick church was built in 1870 .
