Monument to the victims of fascism in the agro-town of Chereya
"On the night of March 4 to 5, 1942, a German bloody detachment with machine guns and submachine guns surrounded Chereya. No one knew about it. In the morning they ordered all the Jews to gather in one place. The assembled Jews, under the reinforced escort of German soldiers and policemen, were brought to the pit formed by the explosion. Ten people separated them from the total mass and brought them to the edge of the pit. A burst from the machine gun – and the unfortunate fell into the pit on top of each other. The hole received from the explosion was not enough, and the frontal place was formed at the silo pit; it was filled with people instead of grass."
