The city of Tours has an interesting feature. A few kilometers from it is the ornithological reserve "Turovsky meadow". Its main inhabitants are sandpipers, many say that their number is equal to the number of residents of the city.

In memory of this unusual coincidence, the only monument to the waders in the world has been erected. The birds are made in full size. The sculptor conveyed the beauty and elegance of these creatures. The pedestal for the bronze sculptures is a bowl of red granite.
