Bust monument to N. I. Dementey
In 2020, on the day of the city of Chashniki, to perpetuate the memory of the famous countryman N.I. Dementey, a bust monument was erected in the square on Freedom Square to the Belarusian state and political, party figure, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the BSSR of the twelfth convocation, whose small homeland was the village of the River of the Chashnik district.

N. I. Dementey as a child learned all the troubles and horrors of war, the severity of agricultural labor in the postwar period. He has passed all the steps of his career. A simple, intelligent, wise man, he was always ready to help. Working alongside him, a wise statesman, was a great school for everyone. His life path is an example of selfless service to the Motherland.The authors of the monument-bust are Soviet and Belarusian sculptor, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and the Belarusian Union of Artists, People's Artist of Belarus I. Ya. Misko and architect V. N. Mitrofanov. His life path was filled with love for his land, honor, heroism, great work and care for people. On July 27, 1990, a meeting of the Supreme Council of the BSSR was held under his leadership, at which the declaration on the state sovereignty of the BSSR was adopted.
