Monument to the 1000th anniversary of the Turov Orthodox Diocese
One of the first Orthodox dioceses in Russia was established in Turov, which turned 1000 years old in 2005. At the solemn opening of the memorial sign in honor of the millennium of the ancient diocese, made in the form of a stone cross, similar to those once miraculously revealed in these places, Metropolitan Filaret said: "The ancient Turov rejoices, rejoices because its inhabitants sacredly remember and honor their roots. The works of the great man of the Turov land, St. Cyril of Turov, are revered sacredly. The erected sign is a sign of respect, good memory and readiness to revive all the shrines of this place." The inscription of the dedication is engraved on it in gold. According to legend, a church, now unknown and non-existent, once stood on this place.
