Ilyinskaya Mountain
The legendary place Ilinskaya Gora got its name from the fact that in ancient times there was a church of St. Elijah, about the construction of which a well-known legend tells. It says that at the end of 1240 Kiev was attacked by the Tatars, and four monks from the Kiev Pechersk Lavra took with them an ancient Byzantine icon and sailed with it up the Dnieper, and then along the Druti. They stopped on a high mountain, and at night a miracle happened – the icon shone with a magical light. The monks believed that the Virgin herself gave them a sign to establish a settlement here. So they did: they built a monastery with a church in honor of the holy prophet Elijah. From the glow of the icon, clear white nights came for the monks and miracles began to happen. Pilgrims began to visit the monastery, and some of them began to settle near its walls. So a settlement appeared, which was called Bely Nochi (Belynichi), and the saving mountain Ilyinskaya. This ancient place has been preserved here to this day, and Ilyinskaya Mountain remains the highest point of Belynichi.

On July 5-7, 1941, the defensive line of the Red Army soldiers of the 223rd Rifle Regiment of the 53rd Rifle Division and the paratroopers of the 7th Airborne Brigade of the 4th Airborne Corps passed through this place.
