Krasnopolsky District Historical and Ethnographic Museum
The museum was opened to the public in 1994 in the former building of the district post office.

The museum's funds are represented by collections of documents, photographs, decorative and applied art, bonistics, etc. The most significant collections are: numismatics, faleristics, everyday life and ethnography, clothing.

On the modern territory of the district there is information about 65 archaeological monuments, including Stone and Bronze Age sites, settlements, settlements, mounds.

The museum has 5 exhibition halls: "Archeology", "Ethnography", "Interior view of a peasant hut", "History of the region", "Nature of the region".

        The exposition of the hall shows the ethnographic features of the region, takes into account the main, the most striking ethnocultural signs of traditional costume and towel, crafts, crafts. In addition to the main ethnographic topics, the theme "Jewish pages of the history of Krasnopol" is presented. At the end of the 19th century, Jews made up 86% of the total population. The exposition presents the furnishings of the corner of the bourgeois room of the Jewish house. The basis of its decoration is made up of furniture and household items: a wardrobe, Viennese chairs, a table set for Shabbat, a sewing machine.     

              The theme of the peasant hut is revealed by reconstructing the interior of traditional peasant housing (huts), and also shows the settlements and courtyards of peasants.

        On October 25 (November 7), 1917, the Great October Socialist Revolution took place. Power passed into the hands of the Soviets of Workers' and Soldiers' deputies.

          In November 1917, a volost Council headed by V.N. Kolesnikov was established in Krasnopol. On July 17, 1924, Krasnopolsky district was formed.

In 1934, the Krasnopol Machine and Tractor Station was established. Industrial enterprises were established in the district: Vydron distillery, flax factory and brick factory. In 1936, the radio hub began to operate.

During the Great Patriotic War, about 10 thousand Krasnopolites took part in the fight against the enemy. The exposition presents materials of defensive battles on the territory of the district in August 1941. The dioramas present a general view of the “partisan camp” and “the defeat of the German garrison".

   The first years of Soviet power were marked by the people's desire for culture, for spiritual self-expression. It was precisely in the wake of the restoration of a new life and great educational activity that the first amateur theater was formed in Krasnopolye in 1918.

In the late 70s – 80s . In the 20th century, the interests of the major states of the world clashed in Afghanistan, where 103 soldiers from Krasnopol entered into a deadly battle against counter–revolutionary Dushman formations and mercenary gangs.

1986, April 26 - the day of the Chernobyl disaster. Krasnopolsky district was in the epicenter of radioactive contamination.

Due to the high level of radioactive contamination, the amount of land in agricultural turnover has decreased. The district was acutely aware of the need for medical specialists, teachers, cultural workers, etc.

Many workers of the Krasnopol region were awarded state awards for high performance in work. The Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, the October Revolution, and the Badge of Honor were rightfully awarded to many for their successes in agricultural production, industry, and the service sector.

The economy of the district is represented by rural enterprises.

The main goal and objective of the development of the national economic complex of the economy, industry, construction and transport organizations, trade and consumer services enterprises, the subjects of the district is the formation of an effective, competitive, sustainable production of industrial and agricultural products, attracting and rational use of investments, increasing incomes of the population.

The exposition of the hall shows a diverse flora and fauna of the area, as well as dioramas with taxidermic sculptures of animals and birds.
