Slavgorodsky District Museum of Local History
State Cultural Institution "Slavgorodsky District Museum of Local Lore"

The museum is a research, educational institution, performs the role of a scientific, cultural, educational and methodological center of museum business. Collects, studies, exhibits and preserves historical and cultural heritage, contributes to the improvement of the cultural and educational level of the population, serves the spiritual development of society.
The main tasks of the museum are: collection, scientific processing and preservation of historical and cultural values; creation of scientifically based expositions and exhibitions; protection and promotion of historical and cultural monuments; activities for the preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of the district.
The State Cultural Institution "Slavgorodsky District Museum of Local Lore" was founded in 2011 and has been open to visitors since 2015.
There are 5 exhibition halls in the museum:
• "The establishment of Soviet power in the Propoyskaya volost of Bykhovsky Uyezd. The region in the 1920s and 1930s. Propoysky district during the Great Patriotic War",
• "Ethnography",
• "Slavgorodsky district as part of the BSSR in the 1960s - 1991",
• "Archeology and Nature",
• exhibition hall.
Be sure to see:
• objects of decorative and applied art (towels, bedspreads, tablecloths, diapers),
• coins of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Russian Empire,
• traditional household items,
• pottery products,
• ceramic tiles with the brands of masters
• layout-reconstruction of the Slavgorod settlement. It was made entirely by hand by students of the 9th grade of one of the city's schools under the guidance of Vera Stasenko, a senior researcher at the museum.
