Wooden lamus in Grodno
The monastery, which belonged to the Catholic order of the Brigid, was built in the first half of the XVII century. On its territory, the so–called lamus has been preserved - an outbuilding, which, according to some researchers, is the oldest wooden structure on the territory of Belarus. According to one version, it was built in 1630 and was used to store various supplies. However, it is more likely that the lamus in Grodno dates back to the XVIII century. Its laconic appearance reflects the traditions of folk architecture.
