Chaussky District Museum of Local History
The mission of the museum is "Our museum collects, preserves and promotes local history materials about the Chaussky district."

The district museum is located in the old building of the county Treasury (1902) in the city center. The museum exposition, which is located in 9 halls, tells about the nature and history of the native land; about the soldiers who liberated the Chaussky district from the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War; about famous countrymen - military intelligence officer, Hero of the Soviet Union, Colonel L.E. Manevich; the first woman in Russia to receive a Doctor of medicine degree sciences Kashevarova-Rudneva V.A.; Belarusian ethnographer and folklorist Nosovich I.I. and others. There is a voice-over in five exhibition halls.

In 2021, 4,529 people visited the museum. To date, the museum funds number 12777 items on the historical and cultural heritage of the Chaussky district. The most notable collections are "Archeology", "Ethnography", "Documents", "Weapons".

 

Unique and interesting exhibits:

- military household items: binoculars, helmets, periscope, German flask, military tableware, etc.;

- commemorative medals, badges and badges (I gender. XX century production of Western Europe);

- personal belongings of the silver champion of the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver 2010, biathlete, native of Chausa Sergey Novikov;

- ethnographic items (towels, woven skirts, tablecloths, etc.);

- a camera signed by K. Simonov.

The exhibition hall of the museum regularly hosts exhibitions not only from the funds of the museum, but also from the funds of the regional museum of local lore, as well as exhibitions of artists, countrymen, folk craftsmen of the district and the region. Among the visitors of the museum are pupils of preschool institutions, schoolchildren, pensioners, representatives of labor collectives, guests from near and far abroad.

The museum also has a "Souvenir Shop", which presents a variety of souvenirs made by local artisans. In it, you can choose a memorable gift with the symbols of the Republic of Belarus and the city of Chausy.

The Chaussky District Museum of Local History is always in active search and development, is open for cooperation with everyone who cares about the history of the Chaussky Region and its future.

8.00 - 18.00 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)

8.00 - 17.00 (Saturday)

lunch break:

13.00 - 14.00

The day off is Sunday.
