The former monastery of the Barefoot Carmelites
The stone monastery buildings and the church were erected in 1736-1765. The three-nave Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross faced the altar to the west, and its facade was decorated with statues and a gallery with wrought iron bars.

The Carmelite monastery existed until 1845, then it was abolished, and the buildings were transferred to the military department. In 1881, they became the property of the city for the construction of barracks. At the beginning of 1901, in connection with the replacement of exile to Siberia with imprisonment, the Russian authorities faced the question of building new prisons, and one of them was to open in the Grodno province. The choice fell on the building of the former Carmelite Church. But in 1902, the building was declared unsuitable for the construction of a prison. In 1904-1906 , according to the project of the Grodno provincial engineer V. The barracks of the Grodno fortress Battalion were built from the former Carmelite Church and monastery of Nebolsin. At the same time, the church with its magnificent facade was dismantled to the very vaults of the crypt. So the unique monument of the late Belarusian Baroque, one of the unique architectural ensembles of Grodno, disappeared forever. Today there is an office of Priorbank here, and a residential building in the former barracks.
