The front line ran along the Pronya River. There was an enemy stronghold in the village of Golovichi. Young people from all the surrounding villages were driven here to dig defense ditches. During three days of fierce fighting from July 23 to July 25, our troops broke through the enemy's defenses on the Pronya and Basya rivers. The stronghold in the village of Golovichi was taken, but many of our soldiers died during these events. So, on the site of heavy fighting, a mass grave appeared in the village of Golovichi.
