The Ice Palace of Sport in Brest

A large white building with brown inserts and a window composition appeared in Brest in 2000. By the order of the Head of the Belarusian state A.G.Lukashenko a modern Ice Palace was built in the city. The project was designed by JSC “Belpromproject”, money for construction was allocated by the Republican budget.  It took almost 2 years to prepare the modern sports complex for work. The first visitors entered the new Ice arena in Brest in the end of June, 2000. 

Here are trained about 240 hockey players and 60 athletes of figure skating 

First of all the Ice arena with an area of 1800 sq. m. is primarily designed for matches in ice hockey. Here are also held competitions in figure skating and short-track. When the Ice Palace is free from workouts and training sessions, ice-skating rink is open for public skating for residents.

The hockey box is easily transformed from an arena for professional big-time sport into a platform for concerts and large-scale events, here are also held competitions in game sports, combat sports, tennis, weightlifting, gymnastics and boxing. The stands of Brest Ice Palace accommodate up to two thousand spectators, here is a place for VIP-guests.

The multifunctional and modern building is equipped with all necessary equipment and appliances to host games and competitions in ice hockey and figure skating at any level: from children's friendly matches and Championships of the city to serious matches of the championship of the Republic and international tournaments.

It is quickly and easy for residents and guests of the city to get to the Ice Palace. The building stands on one of the main streets of Brest - Moscow Street, close to it there is another one- Pioneer Street.   

The ice arena of the Palace is home for Brest hockey players 

Here are trained two professional hockey clubs “Brest” and “Brest-2”. On the basis of the Palace work clubs for preparing future sportsmen and children and youth sports school.  

Nowadays the hockey team “Brest” plays in the extra-League of Belarus. Like Brest Ice Palace itself, the club is also young. Most sportsmen are of 1992-1996 year of birth. The other team, “Brest- 2”, includes even more young children – of 1995-2000 year of birth.

Rental agencies of skates, both figure and hockey, are open for public skating. In the Ice Palace is equipped a modern weight room with all necessary equipment, where work highly trained coaches and trainers. Here is everything for a productive workout and support an active, healthy lifestyle.   

In addition, the Palace has a bar where you can eat in the break of an intense hockey match, and a sauna, which is a good and pleasant place of rest, prevention of colds and support a healthy body and spirit. Here also operates a massage room and conference hall. Inside the Ice Palace are often held large-scale city and regional fairs, trade exhibitions and other public events.
