The Water ladder

30 wide steps with water running down them — this amazing staircase is located 24 km from Minsk. It is hidden among fields and copses and is located in an almost deserted place. Probably that's why few people know about it.

What kind of structure is this

Bystrotok is part of the Vileysko-Minsk water system. It was created to solve the problem of providing the capital with water and looks like a tray with reinforced concrete ribs and a water well at the end.

Over the course of 50 km, the stream gradually rises to a height of 71 m relative to the water level of the Vileisk reservoir and overcomes hilly terrain. Near Vyazynka, the relief changes, and the water flows through the canal in the direction of the capital. By the way, this is the small homeland of Yanka Kupala. So if you're here, take a look at the museum.

Near Zaslavl there are three fast-flowing rivers. They are located close to each other at a distance of about 1.5 km. The hydraulic structures look impressive! They differ in shape and number of edges.

Fishermen can often be seen in this area. However, the area here is swampy and not very conducive to walking. But if you want to walk along the path, do not forget rubber boots.

To get to the bystrotok near Zaslavl, you need to go along the R28 highway and, before reaching the Stalin Line, turn left, where the sign Loshany. After the cottage settlement, you should drive a little along the field, and then on foot.
