Geodetic arc of Struve, Tarasovtsy point, a monument of history of the 19th century
On the territory of the Dyatlovsky district there are quite a lot of various historical and cultural values that are the hallmark of our city and district. But I would like to complement this wonderful historical and cultural bouquet with another very important object, which is a small part of the huge and very important value of the UNESCO World Historical and Cultural Heritage, whose name is the Struve arc.

One of these Belarusian points of the Struve Arc is located on the territory of our Dyatlovsky district near the village of Polubochki and is called the geodetic point " Tarasovichi "(white — point"Tarasaytsy"). The triangulation point itself is located on an elevated hill on the outskirts of the forest at an altitude of over three hundred meters above sea level. The point is dug in from four sides in accordance with the instructions for the construction of geodetic signs, and also has an identification reinforced concrete pillar with a security plate that says that this is a "geodetic sign" and "protected by the state".

The relative coordinates of this geodetic point were established:
* latitude ~ 53.4209
* longitude ~ 25.4426
• altitude above sea level (m) ~ 307, 39 (official height is 283 meters)!
But on the outskirts of the village of half-rolls, in the place where it was possible the backyard and the garden is the reference point, which, as a point of triangulation, dug in on all four sides, and also marked the identification of four reinforced concrete columns with anti-boards "survey marker" and "protected by the state". Coordinates of the reference point:
* latitude ~ 53.4085
* longitude ~ 25.4426
* altitude above sea level (m) ~ 256, 79.
