The former "house of the master" and the Museum of the History of Gorodnitsa

The museum is dedicated to the activities of the Grodno village elder of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania Antony Tizengauz. This is the Master's House, the Bosniak House, the Museum of the History of Gorodnitsa - the only surviving structure of twenty so-called "Bosniak houses" erected in the second half of the XVIII century by architect I.Mezer.

The master's house is an example of the first typical residential development in Belarus. It is located on the transport highway of the Gorodnitsa district – Raskosha Street (modern E. Ozheshko Street). According to the project of I. Mezer and D. Sacco, 20 standard residential houses were built on Raskosha Street, 10 on each side of the street, for foreign craftsmen, who were invited by the Grodno elder A. Tizengauz to work at the manufactories.

The exposition of the first hall of the museum introduces the history of Gorodnitsa. The exposition of the second room of the museum demonstrates the restored interior of the kitchen of the XVIII century and introduces the life of the artisan of the XVIII century. The third room houses an exhibition hall, which hosts exhibitions of ethnographic collections from the museum's collection and personal exhibitions of folk masters of the Grodno region.
