Excursion to the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve

The Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve is one of the most beautiful natural areas of Belarus. It is included in the World network of Biosphere Reserves of  Man and the Biosphere Programme (launched by UNESCO) since 1979 and is awarded with a European Diploma of Protected Areas since 1995.

Excursion to the Biosphere Reserve begins in the village Domzheritsy. In the central manor of the Berezinsky sanctuary of tourists there is a guide who starts an amazing story about the flora and fauna of this place in the Museum of Nature. You will be able to meet representatives of the Big European Five, which can be found in the reserve: lynx, bear, bison, elk and wolf. In addition, the museum's collection includes more than 200 species of other animals.

After that, tourists will have the opportunity to fully enjoy the preserved nature of the Berezinsky Reserve, as well as to listen to the forest and mire stories told by the guide, while visiting eco trail named "Along the protected path".

Afterwards, Forest Zoo is to be visited. Many representatives of the fauna of Belarus live here, including the symbol of the reserve — a bear. Some of them can be treated with special food. The emblem of the nature reserve — a red shield with a bear depicted on it — symbolizes the protection of local flora and fauna. Indeed, many species of plants and animals are included in the list of the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus.

At the end of the excursions to the Biosphere Reserve tourists can enjoy a delicious lunch of national Belarusian dishes in the restaurant of the hotel Serguch.
