Excursion «Benefis with expert Tatiana Bembel Glaze and clay (along the ancient roads of Belarusian ceramics)»
We go on a tour of the sights of Belarus with art critic Tatyana Bembel, curator of the TUT.BY Gallery, a teacher, the former host of the TV program "Passion for Culture" and the director of the Minsk Art Gallery L. Schemelev. Tatiana Bembel is a member of the Union of Artists, the Union of Designers, the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Belarus, and also a member of the International Council of Museums ICOM. We go along the ancient roads of Belarusian ceramics. Let's start with Radashkovichi which represents a typical Belarusian town. In 1569 it received Magdeburg right, was part of the vast possession of Oginski, then Radziwills. Here is preserved Church of St. Trinity, where Yanka Kupala was baptized. After visiting the Church, we get acquainted with the cultural heritage of the village — on its main street there is a memorial sign in honor of Yadvigin Sh., the famous Belarusian writer Anton Levitsky who wrote his books under this mysterious pseudonym and worked as a pharmacist in a local pharmacy. In the 1920-1930-ies on these streets they could meet a talented painter, sculptor, ethnographer Jazep Drozdovich — here were his art studio. Art tradition in the town continues today — here is a factory "BELKHUDOZHKERAMIKA" founded in 1940. Glazing and painting makes of such prosaic material as clay items of art. Visit of the Firm Shop. It has everything: elegant tea and coffee sets, vases and pots for flowers, forms for baking and souvenirs. A variety of types, colors, styles of products will undoubtedly allow you to choose something you want for yourself, and as a gift for friends!
Then follow to Haradok — a village near Radashkovichi, where there is a huge archaeological monument of the XI-XII centuries. Rests of a castle surrounded by a water moat and a powerful rampart, have a grandiose size. Haradok hss also a small Historical-literary museum of the famous fellow countrymen — ethnographers, writers, artists: Yanka Kupala, Roman Semashkevich, Zelik Axelrod and others. In the exhibition halls is hosted Belarusian national costumes and pottery.
And then we move to the nearby Agroestate "Traditions and modernity". The owner of the manor Lina Civina, is a well-known artist, who moved here from Minsk in 2006, and successfully promotes cultural projects, organizes workshops, exhibitions, master classes. Having got acquainted with hospitable owners and having treated with herbal tea and fragrant mulled wine, we will start also practical occupations on ceramics.
