A zoo in Buynichi village

Watching colorful pictures of encyclopedias, each of us, regardless of age, wanted to see those mysterious and unique animals, depicted on the brightest pages of the books, so many times. So actually, zoological gardens and zoos can be called true magic countries that easily fulfill every childish dream.

One of such wonderful places is the zoo in the village of Buynichi near Mogilev. The village is considered a historical and cultural complex; a lot of historical and architectural attractions have survived here. However, but not only they attract tourists fr om other regions. There is an interesting zoo in the territory of 80 hectares. Here you can see living representatives of the local flora and fauna, and not in cages but in their natural living environments. Besides, after visiting this unique place, as if taken fr om pictures of the encyclopedia, the young generation falls in love with all living things.

The zoo is located on the left Bank of the Dnieper near the stylized ethnographic Belarusian village. The entire territory of the zoo can be divided into several parts. Here is a specially equipped area with a main entrance and “the Rabbit shop”, there is a recreational area near it. If you come here by car, you will be given a special parking place in the parking lot. And the territory of animals presents one large open-air-cage with many small sections.

The fauna is very diverse in Buynichi Zoo. Here you can see badgers, lynxes, horses, wild boars, pheasants, deer, roe deer, wolves and rabbits. Here is the main living national symbol – a mighty and majestic European bison. Some cages are specially equipped for foxes, raccoon dogs, hares, owls and ravens. It is important to note that every year the zoo gets more and more “inhabitants” that only pleases visitors of this place.

Not to get lost and be able to see all the animals, the zoo workers have planned a special route passing across the park. As a result, anyone can learn about the living conditions of favorite animals in the familiar environment. There is one unique feature in Buynichi Zoo that distinguishes it from other zoos: a specially equipped contact area wh ere kids can pet small animals and even feed them. Of course, it brings an incredible joy and tenderness to kids and their parents.

The nearest plans of the administration of the local zoo are to increase the number of species of animals, improve conditions of detention and to create interesting hiking trails. In a short time, according to the management of the zoo, it is planned to add a terrarium and aviaries with birds of prey. By the way, now there is a unique attraction “Safari” wh ere anyone can ride a small diesel van around the huge enclosure and watch the animals in such an unusual way. This amusement is associated with a real African safari tour but only among the Belarusian nature and with the local animals.
