Exhibition Hall "Dukhovskoy Kruglik" in Vitebsk

Vitebsk is considered the northern capital of Belarus, called the city on the Dvina, cultural heritage of which attracts tourists fr om the remotest corners of Earth. A watchtower of the Lower Castle in Vitebsk dates back to the XIV century, Grand Duke Olgerd initiated the construction. During its existence, the watchtower was destroyed many times. However, it was rebuilt of wood every time. It is curious: there was no evidence of its existence up to 80-ies of the last century! But archaeologists could uncover the remains of the tower of the XIV century and examine it thoroughly.

The tower acquired its modern form in 2007 due to hard work of the architect Ruslan Lyadenko. Nowadays, there is an exhibition hall in this historic place and the tower itself has significantly changed.

The exhibition hall “Dukhovskoy Kruglik" consists of five levels, each is ready to surprise tourists with something special. The first level offers you to get acquainted with the ancient history of the tower, you can see the remains of a stone foundation and defensive walls dating from the XIV century. The second level is a rich exposition dedicated to the Belarusian northern capital: a large-scale plan of the city and its historical places, captured in paintings and photographs. The museum "Slavonic Bazaar" is located at the third and fourth levels. The fifth level is the last one, represents a massive dome of glass with a special platform, wh ere you can see Vitebsk. The exhibition hall "Dukhovskoy Kruglik" opens its doors to the creative elite of Belarus; you will be able to learn a lot of interesting and curious during such meetings.
