Museum of Military Glory in Gomel

The southern regional center is the second most populous in Belarus. But this is not all that the city above the Sozh can be proud of. Main expositions

The opening of the site with military equipment took place in 2004. The event was timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the Victory. This museum in Gomel became fully operational in 2005.

The permanent exhibition occupies 8 halls on two floors. It introduces the military events of the region since ancient times. Among the exhibits are documents from the Second World War, uniforms, collections of edged weapons, awards.

At the open area behind the museum, visitors can see military equipment of the 20th century. The following objects are presented in the military museum in Gomel:

  • BMD-1 airborne combat vehicle;

  • Self-propelled anti-aircraft gun ZSU-23-4;

  • Tank T-72A;

  • Mobile reconnaissance station PRP-3;

In total, there are more than 40 exhibits on this site in the museum of military equipment in Gomel. There is also an exposition of Partisan town and a shooting gallery. The ambulance car looks no less impressive.

A criminalistics museum 

In 2010, a criminalistics museum appeared in Gomel. It was created on the basis of the main museum complex. Visitors can learn about the work of investigators and forensic experts, see samples of weapons and ammunition there.

At this branch of the War Museum in Gomel, more than 700 exhibits are presented. There one can get acquainted with the methods of investigating crimes, the first sketches, fragments of the offices of investigators.

In the Great Patriotic War Museum in Gomel military-patriotic games and quests are held, field exhibitions are organized. It is desirable for both adults and children to visit the museum.
