If you are a fan of the cinematography, be sure to visit the Museum of the History of Belarusian Cinema, located in Minsk. Film studio "BELARUSFILM" produced a lot of interesting films, such as "My name is Harlequin", "Go and See", "Through the Cemetery", "The girl is looking for her father," "Belye rosy". All these films had giddy success in Soviet times!

 You can learn about the history of the famous films, get acquainted with the biography and works of the most successful filmmakers and see how the movie camera and video editing equipment work, by visiting the Museum of the History of Belarusian cinema. The museum is a truly valuable historical object, because it holds a unique archive of Belarusian films, but only experts have access to it. Visitors are offered to plunge into the world of cinema through various excursions.

In the exposition hall year by year, the exhibition "Film inheritance of Belarus: achievements of different epochs" is held. The excursion is carried out in an interesting way with entertaining and informative program. During the excursion, "They were the first" you will learn all about the founders of cinematography, as well as get acquainted with the works of a famous Soviet filmmaker Yuri Tarich, who made the first Belarusian film "A Forest Tale". In honor of the fiftieth anniversary of this film, the Museum of the Belarusian Cinema History was founded. Then it was attached to the film studio "BELARUSFILM" and served as a place for storage of rare historical materials of national cinematography.

After 16 years of the museum opening, it was relocated to the National House of Cinema Union of Cinematographers, then after 2 years the museum was reopened again in the studio "BELARUSFILM" and in 2002 the museum opened its doors in the building, an architectural and historical monument of the second half of the 20th century, located on the 4 Sverdlova Street.

Nowadays, the Belarusian Cinema Museum is a branch of the State institution "National History Museum of the Republic of Belarus".

Visiting a hall of "permanent exhibition", with more than 900 exhibits, be sure to drop into the exhibition hall of temporary projects, both personal and collective. During themed events and festivals there you can learn about Belarusian cartoonists, artists, filmmakers, and other well-known personalities of the Belarusian cinematography.

Cinema Museum’s concept is very interesting - to fully plunge into a film story, character or plot, you will be offered to visit a hall with the screen exposition- a cinema hall with  fifty sitting places to show domestic and foreign films, about which you will learn a lot of interesting in the hall of "permanent exhibition".

 The impressive filmography allows the museum to present new interesting retrospectives to the audience every month, mostly paintings devoted to significant dates in the history of cinema.
