Chapel of the Ascension of the Blessed Virgin Mary
The Chapel of the Ascension of the Blessed Virgin Mary in ag. Massolany is located in the north-western part of the village opposite the former Bisping Palace. It was built in 1915, but was closed in 1939. It was later rebuilt in 1991 and returned to believers.
It is believed that this small temple was erected in honor of the most beautiful woman of Lithuania and Poland Natalia Kitskaya (nee Bisping, 1801-1888), to whom the young Frederick Chopin dedicated his creations.
A monument of the oriental-exotic direction of Art Nouveau architecture, which is decided by a rectangular volume with a semicircular apse, above which there is a 2-pitched roof. The facade is solved by rectangular faceted pylons with match spires at the end. A Gothic Tudor arch is used in the configuration of the entrance and window openings. The chapel is still in operation today.
