The Gallery of Modern Art

The Gallery of Modern Art is among the 10 most popular sights of Minsk city.  The letter «Ў» is a unique letter that exists only in the Belarusian alphabet, and the Minsk gallery of modern art is named after it. It's a whole art-complex, that opened its doors in 2009. If you are fond of Belarusian culture and art, you must visit this amazing place!

The art-platform combines traditional approaches and innovative ideas that you will find in the Gallery of Modern Art “Ў”:

• interesting theme exhibitions in the exhibition hall;
• a shop of design articles – you can buy here pillows, shoes, decorative lamps, ladies’ accessories, child’s toys;
• the book store Lohvinau – original works of Belarusian writers, works of foreign authors with a high-quality translations and a collection of “intelligent” Russian books as the owners of the shop say;  
• you can enjoy reading books in the wine café-bar “Ў”, a bright spacious place, where meet famous writers, publicist, artists and other creative personalities.

Every project presented in the Gallery is the development of modern Belarusian culture, as in the framework of exhibitions there are presentations of creative works of Belarusian authors.  Modern sculpture, photography, multimedia projects, art-objects, performances and painting are presented at such events. Great attention is paid to educational functions: in the gallery there are organized educational programs, round tables, discussions, master classes, lectures, workshops, meetings with outstanding art critics.

Every year the Gallery of Modern Art “Ў” takes part in the Fair of Modern Art «ARTVILNIUS», where repeatedly became the winner. According to the jury the “Ў” is the best foreign gallery of Europe!

By the way in the Gallery you can buy original paintings and sculptures such masters as Aleg Ladzisaw, Zakhar Kudzin, Aliaksandr Nekrashevich, Aliaksey Talstow and many others.

In the Gallery of Modern Art “Ў” there is no entrance fee besides large-scale exhibitions. Sometimes the opening time of the exhibition changes so before plunging into the world of Belarusian art, you should call and find out the current schedule. 

Over the years of its existence the Gallery of Modern Art “Ў” has completely refuted the myth of boredom of exhibitions. It is a place where is freedom of expression of every person; it is a place where masters share their experience, and young talents finding their idols open the door to the world of contemporary art of Belarus.
