May 11 is declared the International Day of Astronomy. For this event, the Minsk Planetarium, located in Gorky Park, has prepared an exciting program and invites visitors to discover the secrets of space.
If the weather is good from 18.30 to 22.00, visitors can admire the Moon, Saturn and star clusters in the telescope of the Observatory.
The program shows three full-domed films. Two of them are in Belarusian Maya. Naziralniki susvetu, Myshata i luna and one in Russian Solnechniy vzryv.
At 20.00, a lecture will be held on the Belarusian myths about the starry sky, which will be conducted by the candidate of historical sciences Dmitry Skvorchevsky. Pre-enrollment is required to attend the lecture.
The event will end with a thematic concert, which will begin at 21.30. The entrance to the planetarium on May 11 is free.
