A bench of mercy was installed in Brest

An unusual bench has appeared on the embankment of the Mukhavets River in Brest.

It is much larger than the standard benches located along the embankment. And it looks very unusual: the seat and the top bar of the back are wooden, the back itself is metal and is made in the form of the slogan of the organization – Pro100 pomogaem. And above there is a forged composition – a long-winged angel and weaving of herbs form a huge heart together.

To the right of the seat is another one – rounded and with handrails. It was created specifically for people with disabilities. The shape and handrails make it easy to transfer from a wheelchair.

A bench appeared thanks to volunteers. It was made by the famous blacksmith from Brest Alexander Chumakov. According to the author's idea, it embodies the image of all-consuming kindness, the people dubbed the composition the bench of mercy.

The new facility was erected in honor of the Belarusian Red Cross Society, which celebrated its 100th anniversary on 6 September.
