Checkpoints on the border with Latvia will be modernized

Thanks to the financial support of the European Union, the modernization of two checkpoints Urbany and Silene is expected soon. Thanks to it, it will be much easier and faster to pass the Belarusian-Latvian customs. It is predicted that in the future it will take 10 minutes will take to cross the border.

The following work will be done at the checkpoints:

  • the carriageway will be expanded to three lanes,

  • pedestrian paths will appear between the lanes,

  • in order to scan vehicles, a stationary inspection and inspection complex will be built.

Innovations will allow everyone to freely cross the border without spending a lot of time on it. Recall that not so long ago the need to pay customs duty was abolished. All this has been done so that tourists can get to Belarus as quickly as possible for tourism and health purposes.
