In Belarus, there are 1,289 national parks, reserves, wildlife sanctuaries and natural monuments. In total, these natural objects occupy 1,861.5 thousand hectares or about 8.9% of the entire territory of the country and are classified as specially protected. Protected areas are designed to preserve the unique nature, flora and fauna of Belarus. Remind that recently the German television channel Deutsche Welle ranked the most beautiful natural parks in Europe, which included Belovezhskaya Pushcha.
